FAIRFIELD — Boredom is a thing of the past in Solano County.
A bevy of destinations await residents and guests, whether they want action and adventure or a some music and wine.
For more than 30 years, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has called Vallejo home. This year the 135-acre amusement park added a Wonder Woman ride to its Marvel collection.
It’s open year-round with special events such as Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park.
Other popular destinations are Jelly Belly and the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Fairfield.
Jelly Belly hosts special events at Christmas, Hanukkah and Easter.
The brewery hosts live music monthly for ages 21 and over.
For those who prefer nature’s beauty, the county is home to waterfronts in Benicia, Vallejo, Suisun City and Rio Vista and a bevy of community and regional parks.

Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve: 1595 Railroad Ave., Mare Island, Vallejo. This 215-acre area along the southern shore of Mare Island offers hiking and includes Mare Island Hill with views of San Pablo Bay, the Carquinez Strait, Mare Island Strait and Vallejo.
