Solano County plays host to a healthy crop of farmers markets from Dixon to Vallejo that offer a wide selection of the county’s produce, from peaches to kettle corn.

Some are available year-round while others will wrap up their seasons this fall.

You just can’t beat the freshness of what farmers markets can offer, according to Stefan Robinson, marketing and promotions manager for the Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association. Crops ripened a little later than usual this year, but the markets’ customers have adapted to that.

“You are going to get the best taste,” Robinson said. “You taste a peach from a farmers market and you can taste the difference.”
