The base inside Fairfield city limits has more than 14,000 workers, topping not only other employers, but the entire population of Rio Vista. The eastern Solano County city along the Sacramento River has about 8,000 residents.
Next comes Kaiser Permanente’s Vallejo hospital, which is the top private employer. The health care giant has about 3,900 workers.
